I would definitely avoid stealing/thief decks if you’re looking for “funny” decks, a few people may be good natured about it but I guarantee you a much larger percentage of people are definitely not going to be okay with you taking their spells/permanents. Because humor is very subjective, there aren’t strict criteria for how to do that in Magic. If you really want to optimize a commander, you'll want to find well-tested cEDH decks that use that commander and then gradually take a weighted average of your starting deck and that final deck, slowly, carefully replacing cards with what you found in the list. Recon lets you attack safely with the maximum number of zombies you can to trigger Varina's first ability, getting through your deck faster. Otherwise anything that had funny interactions or themes to it. I know those cards are great (and fun!) but they're also over $10 apiece. Quicken My first deck coming back to EDH after a 6 year hiatus was a [[Goreclaw]] deck, I built it then for 20$ and you could do the same for ~50 today with way better cards. Super fun on a budget or without one. With the amount of ramp in the deck, it could prove to be a solid game ender if played right. The idea is to get in with them in the early game for damage and value, then come turn 6 people usually have their defenses up, so I throw Sun Quan or there to make the team unblockable and finish them off. I have some pet cards in here that absolutely shine. I literally tell people that it is group hug until it's not. I never play the same thing twice. Minotaur Tribal or Mutate would probably get some love. I play both 1v1 and multiplayer. If you're looking for unexpected, I try to subvert expectations by using [[Feather, the Redeemed]] as a pure value commander instead of the Voltron beat down she's known for in my version of the deck. You can also get the best enchantment in the game for aggro decks in [[Reconnaissance]]. [[Jinnie Fay]] but only with dogs tokens. I think many people would agree with me that for it to be a "real" storm deck, the main wincon has to involve casting a large but finite number of spells in a turn. The equipment wouldn't really make sense if you swapped pramikon into the command zone but being able to use ardenn to move around your goad enchantments or [[imprison in the moon]] or [[control magic]] effects i think is a really fun and interesting control package you could include in a For example I have a [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]] deck that is voltron via the Background enchanments, and a grouphug deck with [[Multani, Maro-Sorcerer]]. Both decks either feature a very easily I've had a Dihada deck for a while and I'm fighting temptation to spin the Mardu reanimation out into a Kroxa and Kunoros deck, and legendaries into a Djeru and Hazoret deck, and I'm trying to convince myself to do the hard work of fitting all three in one deck and cutting some of the more jank legendaries that I love to make room for this Boros is THE color combo for [[stuffy doll]] (tagged as spite-damage in scryfall) type effects and damage redirection like [[deflecting palm]]. So far I like the Beams the most since it's a bit trolling and political. Your deck is almost entirely small evasive creatures like [[Gudul Lurker]] and [[Scryb Sprites]], and a few [[Overrun]] type effects. I very much enjoy my izzet dragons deck. However once you start playing at a high enough level, there is a pretty good case for targeted land destruction. Or pir and toothy. I love +1/+1 counter synergies, I love Artifact decks etc. Its got pillowfort and group hug elements but also has real teeth that give you a lot of flexibility in game play. It's a great, cheap, Timmy turn sideways deck that has all the utility needed to play midrange if needed. Beyond that, the deck really shines in the mid game when you have explosive turns like casting [[Black Sun's Zenith]] on X=1 with Hapatra out. Decks that uses some control elements like interaction (something almost every deck should have) are also not necessarily a control deck. However, one piece of advice I’d give you is to make the deck funny for the whole table, not just yourself. Personally i love playing proteus elsha because it's so adaptive. One example I had was the Tariel deck that attemps to win in weird, niche ways. Not only that, but it's nearly impossible to predict what you have, and people usually just assume the worst and avoid angering you. The main problem with that deck is that people will hate you. It's a fun and challenging stipulation where you can't just build an ideal decklist, add everything to a cart on TCGPlayer and be done.
